dreamt last night I had gone back in time to the September of 2000. I was at Westminster choir college and watching a choir rehearsal that my 21 year old self was taking part in. The choir was singing the Dvorak Requiem, which wasn't quite right because we had sung that in 1999 not 2000. The rehearsal ended, and I saw my younger self driving away in the red 2000 VW I had at that time. I flagged the car down and got inside. I saw my younger self driving, and Robert and Philip were in the car as well. I told my younger self "Do know who I am?" and he nodded saying he realized i was himself from the future. We both exited the car and started waking together. I told him, "I know you are planning on emailing Jillian soon right? I know you sent a mass email out to friends including her hoping she would respond and she didn't. But now you are planning on emailing her individually." My younger self nodded that yes that was right. I continued, "You should have asked her out at the beginning of August. She would have said yes, that was a big mistake. But now you absolutely have to ask her out before the middle of October. Do you understand?" I said this knowing she would meet her husband sometime that fall. My younger self looked uncomfortable and uncertain. He was changed now and much larger and taller than me. At this point I realized I was dreaming and tried to keep focus. But then I dreamt that I woke up and was in a strange hospital like place with bright overhead lights. I thought this place had some thing to do with my time travelling.
This vivid and intricate dream touches on several themes including time travel, nostalgia, self-reflection, and the importance of making timely decisions. Below is a detailed interpretation of your dream:
Interpretation: Going back in time to September 2000 represents a desire to revisit or re-evaluate a significant period in your life. This time may hold particular meaning due to experiences or decisions made during that period. You might be longing for a chance to rectify past mistakes or capitalize on missed opportunities.
Interpretation: Choir rehearsals and music often symbolize harmony and collaboration. Watching yourself perform indicates a desire to reconnect with aspects of your younger self, possibly reflecting on talents, aspirations, or passions from that time. The anomaly with singing the Dvorak Requiem, performed a year earlier, highlights discrepancies or regrets about your past recollection or handling of events.
Interpretation: Meeting your younger self represents self-dialogue and reflection. By offering guidance based on your current knowledge, you are expressing a longing to provide your younger self with the wisdom and insight you have gained with age and experience. The conversation about Jillian signifies unresolved feelings or regrets regarding relationships and actions from your past.
Interpretation: Advice about asking Jillian out is a manifestation of regret, an opportunity that could have altered your relationship trajectory significantly. The urgency reflects a hindsight perspective on pivotal life choices and how timing plays a crucial role in relationships.
Interpretation: The transformation of your younger self into someone larger and taller than you suggests growth—both physically and metaphorically. It may symbolize your recognition of how much you have changed and grown over time. Yet, the discomfort and uncertainty expressed by your younger self note that fear or hesitation from the past might still linger within you.
Interpretation: The transition to a strange hospital-like place upon realizing you're dreaming connects to notions of healing, change, and introspection. Hospitals often signify places of recovery, indicating your understanding that revisiting the past and dwelling on unmet opportunities needs to be addressed or healed. It might also imply that your journey back in time had underlying motivations related to healing or understanding unresolved issues.
This dream encapsulates a profound exploration of your psyche, dealing with regrets, choices, and decisions affecting your personal life and relationships. It also reveals a desire to reconcile your present self with your past through reflection, understanding, and potentially healing unresolved emotional issues. You are grappling with how the choices you once made have influenced your current path, and contemplating how alternate decisions could have altered your life's trajectory.
